Let’s Talk HTV | Silhouette Sunday

This week’s Silhouette Sunday video was a quick and easy baby onesie that could be for your own child or an easy gift to give. Layering HTV in different textures and colors can be intimidating. When tackling this type of project, there are some things to keep in mind…

  1. Some brands of HTV can not be layered. You need to read the directions to make sure you chunk out a design as needed. I did another video about this. You can see it here: https://youtu.be/Hm0fqEtM_VU
  2.  Some brands of HTV come on a carrier sheet and need to be mirrored. Some brands don’t… READ twice and cut once. I can’t tell you how many HTV projects I’ve goofed because I didn’t read part of the directions.

DIY Project Life Cards | Silhouette Sunday

It’s November 1st and everyone knows what that means….

We can talk about Christmas and not get strange looks! 😀 I love summer, I wouldn’t be a proper school teacher if I didn’t but I might love Christmas a little bit more. Good food, good family and good fun! What more can a girl ask for, right? With that said, it’s time for me to start doing some holiday prepping.
Last year, and the year before that, I considered doing December Daily…. but that’s a story for another day. The story for today is DIY project life cards! While surfing Ali Edwards website, I noticed a new hand written quote for her giveSunday project this year. I decided today was a good day to show you how I make these types of images into Project Life Cards!

Using a toner based printer, I was able to add foil to some of the cards using my Minc. I love foil, it makes everything look fancier!

Bow Birthday Card | Silhouette Sunday

Today, I spent some time exploring sketch designs and pen tools for the Silhouette. So often, I dedicate a large amount of time to some of the more complex tools in Silhouette Studio that I forget about all the bottoms on the left! 😆

It’s really easy to draw or modify designs using the Pen tool. The lines can be set to automatically “smooth out” if you don’t have the best digital drawing hand.

Here is a look at the final product. Thanks for stopping by!
